Make Pandora Unbricking Battery Magic memorystick

Lets get started ... A pandora's battery is a special service battery along with the “magic memorystick” that can downgrade and unbrick any psp (even 3.52) . You can now bring your dead (bricked) PSP back to life or downgrade any firmware psp , yes ANY FIRMWARE - 100 % . This amazing breakthrough is all thanks to the Noobz! team which has some of the best PSP hackers . So here’s how to make your normal battery and memorystick into a Pandora battery and magic memorystick . The tutorial looka kinda complicated (I tried my best to simplify it) but hang in there it aint as hard as you think it is . Please follow the instructions carefully.

NOTE : Vista users try using XP , vista seems to give loads of trouble .

NOTE TO NEWBIES: you have to make your normal battery into a pandora’s battery via software and stuff not by manually short circuiting it or something

REQUIREMENTS :
1) A spare PSP battery (recommended) , any make will do .

2) A spare memory stick PRO DUO (it has to be PRO DUO)

3) A PSP with Custom firmware ( OE or M33) or a 1.5 PSP. Ask you friends if you don't have oen ,or search for one .

INSTALLATION :
1) Take out the 1.5 or Custom firmware PSP ( OE or M33) and put in the spare memorystick (it has to be pro duo) and spare battery that you wanna modify .

2)Now you gotta format the memory stick . Scroll to SETTINGS > SYSTEM SETTINGS > FORMAT MEMORY STICK

3) OK now download this pack from here . and EXTRACT it with WinRAR . Don’t have Winrar Download it from here

4) Now extract the PANDORA folder from the downloaded pack to the desktop . Inside the Pandora folder you will find two other folders “msinst” and “mspformat”

5) Connect you PSP to the PC via USB cable .

6) Now in you computer go to START > RUN and type in CMD and click on OK . A black box will popout .

7) Here’s kinda the confusing part . your computer might show C:\ or C:\Documents and Setting\Username> … Now I told you to you to extract the folders to the Desktop . So copy the location of the msformat picture here , paste it followed by the drive letter of your PSP (eg my psp drive removable disk (I:) the letter is I )

Now if your PC shows C:/ in your CMD copy the address bar and paste it in followed by the letter of your psp drive .

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\PANDORA\mspformat\mspformat.exe I

IF you PC shows C:\Documents and Setting\Username> copy the address bar and paste it in followed by the letter of your psp drive

C:\Documents and Setting\Username>Desktop\PANDORA\mspformat\mspformat.exe I

8) Keep trying till you get this prompt (like mine) :

>>> C:\Documents and Setting\Username>Desktop\PANDORA\mspformat\mspformat.exe I
>>> You are about to format the drive I .
>>> All Data will be lost . Do you want to continue? [Y]

Then you type in y and you will see
>>> Drive successfully formatted, and partition moved.
After that you can close the CMD box

9) Disconnect your psp from the PC and remove the memory card and turn of the PSP , then place the MS (MS=memory stick) back in and turn the PSP on . Then reconnect you PSP to the Pc . NOTE: You have to do this …

10) Now download this pack from here , extract it with WinRar and copy the PSP folder and the UPDATE.PBP to the ROOT of the PSP memory stick . If you you have a 1.5 PSP no problem , If you have Custom Firmware make sure you turn on the 1.5 kernel mode ( to know how see here)

11) Disconnect your PSP . Scroll to GAME and click on “Pandora’s Battery Firm. Installer” it will take a few moments . After its done remove the MS from the PSP turn it off then place it back in and turn the PSP back on again, you HAVE to do this .

12) Connect your PSP to the PC . A Few files and folders will be formed in your ROOT , now copy the msipl.bin from the root to the “msinst Folder” which is inside your extracted Pandora folder . It should look like this

13) Here we go again START >RUN type in CMD . That black box will open again . Now copy the address of the msinst.exe followed by the PSP drive letter followed by the address of the msipl.bin

Now if your PC shows C:/ in your CMD it should be something like this (with reference to PSP’s drive as I)

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msinst.exe I Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msipl.bin

IF you PC shows C:\Documents and Setting\Username> then it will look something like this :

C:\Documents and Settings\username>Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msinst.exe I Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msipl.bin

If you did it right you will get a prompt like (this promp will differ from PC to PC) :

>>> PSP MS IPL Installer
>>> Load IPL code msipl.bin
>>> 241664 bytes(59 block) readed
>>> Target DRIVE is 1
>>> Check partation Sector
>>> boot status 0x80
>>> start head 0x0B
>>> start sec/cyl 0x0018
>>> partation type 0x06
>>> last head 0x7F
>>> last sec/cyl 0xCFE0
>>> abs sector 0x00000177
>>> ttl sector 0x0003CF689
>>> signature 0xAA55
>>> Check BPB Sector
>>> signature AA55
>>> Check free reserved sector:OK
>>> Write ABS Sector 0x10 to 0x1E7
>>> Are You Sure ?[Y]

Type in Y and you will get

>>> Write MS BOOT CODE

Congrats you now have a Magic Memory stick . Now Disconnect your psp from the PC and remove the memory card and turn of the PSP , then place the MS back in and turn the PSP on .

NOTE : if you get

>>> PSP MS IPL Installer
>>> Load IPL code msipl.bin
>>>Can’t open msipl.bin

The location (address) of the msipl.bin is WRONG (i got this like 100 times until I figured it out just keep trying …)

NOW MAKING THE PANDORA UNBRICKING BATTERY :

14) After you have the magic MS leave it in the PSP then , Turn on your psp and go to Pandora’s battery Creator , make sure you have the spare battery in it . I Recommend backing up so you can make the pandora battery into a normal one press “triangle " first it will back up then go to “Pandora’s battery Creator” again and press X … You normal spare battery is now a … PANDORA UNBRICKING BATTERY … WOO HOO… You did it .

NOTE :when the Pandora’s battery Creator loads and if you get “ERROR at address 0x27” or a similar error you are screwed , you cant turn that battery into a Pandora battery but you can use it as a normal battery . Use another battery and try again . How do I know this ??? coz I got screwed too : P .

Pandora Downgrade unbrick Any PSP firmware

Ok , Now i assume that you have made the pandora battery , if you havent - learn how to make one from here .
Once you have the pandora battery unbricking or downgrading will be a breeze , and the best part is , it's 100% safe.

NOTE : this is for people who have made the pandora battery in my method

GUIDE:

1) Now what you do is take the bricked PSP or the psp you want to downgrade to 1.5 , it doesn't matter which firmware it is , and yes this works for all modchips (inculding TA-082) . I recommend taking out the UMD (this is not compulsory i just recommend it)

2) Make sure the
Pandora-unbricking-service battery is charged , then put it in the PSP , The psp should turn on automatically .

3) After that insert the " magic memorystick " in it .

4) The wifi and memorystick lights will flash for a moment and a white Text will appear .

5) Press X to downgrade , the battery should be 50% charged at this point if not it will prompt you to charge it.

6) Just agree to the terms and press X ... the downgrading will begin .

7) It will flash into the kernel (don't worry this is the safest any downgrader has ever been) , wait for a couple of minutes and it will tell you that its done (press X) and it will then turn off.

8) Take out the "magic memorystick" and the "pandora battery" and insert the the normal battery and memorystick and turn the PSP on. It will show you a crazy Blue screen (a sign that it is downgraded) and Congrats thats it you done , it was pretty simple wasn't it ??? . Apply your personal settings like date , time and stuff .

EXTRAS:

How to make magic memorystick into a normal one:

Format it and use it without the pandora battery (use a normal one) , though i don't recommend it .

How to make a pandora battery into a normal one :
Again i don't recommend this , coz when your psp is bricked or upgraded to a new firmware this battery will be the only one that can save you .

Next I Hope you backed it up . If you did :
1) Put in the magic memorystick and Take out normal battery.

2) Power the PSP with the AC charger only .

3)Turn it on , after its on insert the pandora battery .

4) Go to Pandora Battery Maker ... Press L+R to restore you pandora battery into a normal one from the eeprom.bin (that is if you backed it up ) , If you did not back it up and yet want it to become a normal one press square , it will turn into a normal battery ,but you will face problems (like take's too much time to charge and stuff) just don't blame me for it , like i said i don't recommend turning a pandora battery back a normal one (whats the use of making it in the first place ???) .

5) NOTE : Don't keep turning you battery into pandora and normal, this will only spoil the battery .

Now you got your 1.5 PSP upgrade it to the 3.40 OE-A one of the best custom firmware from see
3.40 oe custom firmware installation . Please Tell your friends about www.igizmore.uni.cc or http://igizmore.blogspot.com

P.S : Please share your battery with others , let everyone have the the joy of homebrew on their PSP's .

If you need more details please see the Noobz! team's readme.txt from here

PSP 3.50 downgrader / downgrading guide for 3.50 and below

What did i tell you - now its out : ) . Please take a video of and send it to me at igizmore@rediffmail.com (will give credit) .OK straight to business , :

Note: you can also downgrade any psp using the pandora battery , see the tutorial HERE

Requirements:
1)
A legal UMD copy of Lumines (part 1) , either US (ULUS10002) or EU (ULES00043) .If u don't have lumines see HERE

2) You need Winrar to open zipped and RAR files download it from
here

3) Make sure that the psp system language is set to English .

4)
PSP running Sony’s official 3.50 firmware , If your psp is under 3.50 just download the update from here ,Conncet psp to PC via usb , Unzip and place the file in [your psp drive letter]:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE (make a folder called UPDATE in the game folder and place the 3.50 EBOOT.PBP there ), make sure your battery is full , run the game via the GAME menu and delete the data when your done.

NOTE:
If you have a TA082+ motherboard and you downgrade to 1.50, currently you will be unable to upgrade to 3.30+ Sony firmware. This is due to Sony blocking updates when the PSP has been modified to run 1.50. There will be an application released later which will allow users to revert the changes. If you are using a TA082 motherboard then I would suggest just using 1.50 or OE until an application is released.

WARNING, ANY DOWNGRADER HAS A CHANCE OF BRICKING A PSP. WHEN A PSP IS BRICKED YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT ANYMORE. PLEASE TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Well like other downgraders it has its own risk too .

INSTRUCTIONS :

1) Download the downgrader pack from
here .

2) Connect your PSP to your PC via USB

3) Open the file with winrar and copy the PSP folder to the ROOT of the PSP , if it asks you if it can overwrite click on "Yes" .

4) Load Lumines and press x to start the game

5) The screen will clear to black and fill with a light blue colour, then the PSP will reset itself.

6) Check that HEN is running by going to system settings, then to"System Information" and it
should show up as system version 350 HEN

7)If it is showing up as HEN then go to the memory stick and run the x.yz update (1.50)

8)If you have an unpatched TA-082 or higher motherboard, you will be to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard so it can be safely downgraded. The downgrader will not let you proceed without patching, if your motherboard requires it.

9)Before the downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask for you to agree to what it is doing, if you no longer want to continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER).

10)Once you have agreed to start the downgrade do not unplug the PSP, or try and restart it

11)Once finished the PSP will ask you to press X, and reset itself

12) If it comes up saying that the settings are corrupt, press x to continue, this will mean you will need to re-enter the settings for network connections into your PSP, otherwise go to step14

13) Load the included NetConfigBackup application in your PSP, and select torestore, this will take the backup that was done of the network config that was done automatically during the downgrade.

14) All done now *yaaaaa* Hopefully you now have a 1.50 PSP . To update to a 3.40 OE-A (the best custom firmware that allows you to play iso's and homebrews click
here .

Troubleshooting
If when trying to restore the network config using netconf backup you find that it gives you an error on the downgraded 1.50 PSP, try adding a temporary network config, then deleting it and run the netconf backup again.
